That's right - I'm a Stargate fan! Stargate originally aired as a movie in 1994 starring Kurt Russel and James Spader. Richard Dean Anderson (Magyver) and Michael Shanks were brought in to 
recreate the rolls from the original film in a series called Stargate SG1. I've been watching the show since it first arrived on Showtime in July of 1997, and then later when it arrived on the SciFi channel in 2002. Stargate SG1 went for 10 seasons, and made it into the Guiness book of World records (longest running science fiction show). The show even created a spin-off series when Stargate Atlantis hit the airwaves in 2004. After the show ended, the producers got together and made two direct to DVD films (Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate Continuum) to continue the story (with more promised in the future). Stargate Atlantis will continue through it's 5th season, and than it will be followed by films as well. A third series is in the works now, called Stargate Universe, coming in 2009...
Stargate figures have been around for some time, but coming this Christmas, a new model the F-302 will be coming out. The F-302 was a hybrid earth/alien jet built on earth for use by the air force. The model is made of plastic and is hand painted. You can see it here Quantum Mechanix. They also sell a 10" Stargate mirror.
